Jeff Monroe TARIFF PROVISIONS-RECOMMENDED INCLUSION As a result of a recent court case in the U.S. where the terminal is being held responsible for damage to a vessel and subsequent pollution mitigation and cleanup, a number of ports and terminals are adding a new tariff provision related to vessels entering or leaving berths in public waters. A copy of suggested language for guidance can be obtained from jeffrey.monroe@iampe.org. 2016 WEIGHT VERIFICATION REQUIREMENT On July 1, 2016, a new amendment to the SOLAS convention (“Safety of Life at Sea”) will go into effect that mandates a “verified gross mass” for all shipping containers prior to loading aboard a container
