Jeff Monroe, MM, AMPE PRINCE RUPERT SLATED FOR EXPANSION The Port of Prince Rupert in Canada’s British Columbia, through the Prince Rupert Port Authority, has completed a new master plan focused on a capacity of six to seven million TEUs of through the development of multiple terminals. The plan looked at the potential for expansion of Fairview Terminal and the development of a new second container terminal at the Port’s South Kaien Island location. This second terminal would have a capacity of 2.5 million TEUs and would be the next phase of terminal expansion for the container trade after the expansion of Fairview Container Terminal. Jeff Monroe, MM, AMPE International Association of Maritime and Port Executives MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME ACADEMY AND IAMPE BECOME EDUCATIONAL PARTNERS The Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) and the International Association of Maritime and Port Executives (IAMPE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreeing to work together on professional development for the maritime and port industry. Under MOU, MMA and the IAMPE will acknowledge and endorse each other’s programs, maintaining the highest professional standards of education and training. The IAMPE will provide a professional certification as Marine Port Manager (MPM) to MMA students

Jeff Monroe, MM, AMPE International Association of Maritime and Port Executives FALL PROGRAM FOR PORT AND TERMINAL LEGAL STAFF The IAMPE - in cooperation with the University of Maine Law School, the University of Maine Graduate and Professional Center, and the Maine Port Authority - is developing a 1- to 2-day program for port and terminal attorneys, municipal attorneys, and legal professionals working or interested in the port industry to cover a wide range of critical topics in this specialty area. The program is being developed to provide CLE credits. Our target is the end of the first week of October. We would be interested in hearing back on key topics critical
