IAMPE ACADEMIC PARTNERS
The IAMPE is pleased to be partnered with several academic institutions around the world. Academic partners offer academic credit to students completing the MPE and IMPE courses, and the IAMPE awards certification to students of the academic partners who complete programs in port management and logistics. The University of Tasmania (UTAS) through its specialist institute the Australian Maritime College (UTAS) and the International Association of Maritime and Port Executives (IAMPE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2021 agreeing to foster international cooperation in education and research for the maritime industry.
Located on Australia's picturesque island state of Tasmania, in January 2008, AMC was formally established as an institute of the University of Tasmania. The AMC is a globally recognized center for excellence in maritime education, research and consulting, offering a wide variety of maritime courses from vocational training through to bachelor and postgraduate degrees.
State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College
Founded in 1874, SUNY Maritime College is one of seven maritime academies in the US that educate and train individuals to become officers in the merchant marine. Located in New York City, SUNY Maritime College educates dynamic leaders for the global marine transportation industry, the business of shipping, engineering, energy, facilities management, finance, the armed forces and public service.
The Loeb-Sullivan Graduate School of International Business and Logistics at Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) and the International Association of Maritime and Port Executives (IAMPE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2016 agreeing to work together on professional development for the maritime and port industry. The two organizations work together to develop new programs and undertake research as appropriate to improve offerings to the global industry.
Under the MOU, MMA and the IAMPE acknowledge and endorse each other’s programs, maintaining the highest professional standards of education and training. The IAMPE provides a professional certification as Maritime Port Manager (MPM) to MMA students for successfully completing the graduate program. In essence, MMA graduate students earn both the Master’s of Science degree as well as the MPM certification. IAMPE members who independently complete the IAMPE certification can receive academic credit towards the graduate degree at MMA.

Texas Southern University (TSU)
Maritime and Transportation Management trains students for successful careers in the various field of transportation. For those pursuing management careers, TSU transportation programs have strong foundations in transportation principles, economics and finance, logistics, homeland security, and transportation policy and management. Located in the heart of Houston and founded in 1927 TSU's Department of Transportation Studies has a mission to provide comprehensive transportation education that builds on the latest data, systems and technologies.
