IAMPE AWARDS PORT PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATIONS


The International Association of Maritime and Port Professionals (IAMPE) is pleased to announce its latest class of port and maritime professionals to complete the IAMPE Maritime Port Management and Executive Program.  The professional certifications were presented in the Port of Savannah and the program was hosted by the Georgia Ports Authority. 
 
Receiving the professional designation of Maritime Port Manager (MPM) were GPA employees Andrew Brooks, MPM; Ryan Gleason, MPM; Eric Hampton, MPM; Amy Hart, MPM; Scott Heller, MPM; Abby Silva, MPM; Srirvong Sriratanakoul, MPM; Justin Tillman, MPM; Luis Jimenez, MPM and Guy Buck, MPM.  Receiving the Senior Port Manager (SPM) certification were GPA employees Michael Laird, SPM; Joseph Mangum, SPM; Jackson Robertson, SPM and Matt Sterrett, SPM. Receiving the Maritime Port Executive (MPE) Certification were GPA employees were Jared Lott, MPE; Patrick Page, MPE; and Yai Thangtaveekool, MPE.  Also receiving the MPE certification was Fred Jones, MPE-US DOT Federal Maritime Administration (MARAD). 
 
Receiving the Accredited Marine Port Executive certification were Capt. Michelle Ross, AMPE of Marine Services International, LLC and Greg Oltmanns AMPE of Improved Process Solutions, Inc.  The AMPE candidates completed 16 additional hours of continuing education and with their awarded certifications will be part of the AMPE Class of 2017.  The continuing education program includes comprehensive seminar education offered by industry professionals and approved by the Board of the IAMPE in addition to the management programs offered.
 
In addition to the professional certification, each individual who completed the MPE program received 4 academic credits, through the Loeb-Sullivan Graduate School of International Business & Logistics at the Maine Maritime Academy.  Those with Professional Engineering (PE) and similar certifications also receive continuing education credits to maintain their credentials.   All programs are reviewed and accepted by the Board of the IAMPE, comprised of senior executives from over 28 ports as well as maritime business and education sectors in North America. 
 
IAMPE industry partners include Maine Maritime Academy, The Inland Rivers Ports and Terminals Association, Houston Port Bureau, Alaska Association of Harbormasters and Port Administrators, North Atlantic Ports Association, Maritime Exchange of the Delaware River and Bay, Maine Port Authority and HDR Engineering.
