The Inland Rivers Port and Terminal Association (IRPT) and the International Association of Maritime and Port Professionals (IAMPE) will be holding our Inland Maritime Port Executive Management Program in 2 weeks, beginning June 18th in Milwaukee, sponsored by the Port of Milwaukee. We work carefully with the IRPT to insure that this program continues to offer a high degree of excellence based on practical experience, extensive research from numerous port projects, input from our alumni and practical application of solid academic standards. In addition to IAMPE professional certification, the Loeb-Sullivan Graduate School at Maine Maritime Academy provides academic credits and participants receive a free membership in the IAMPE with all membership privileges. The program has been well received by those who have enrolled and evaluations have been very positive. The IAMPE has over 2,000 alumni worldwide through various programs.
Overall, this seminar expands your view of the industry as well as your own approach to managing your own port and terminal activities. The 36 hour program can be taken in two sections if you are unable to commit to the full week; 2 days for the management section, and 2 ½ days for the executive certification. We cover the state of the industry, port and terminal management, types of facilities and operations, safety, security and regulatory requirements, the river and waterways, property management, cargo management and shipper pricing, business development, tariffs, public relations, strategic, master and cargo planning. Hotel: We recommend Double Tree by Hilton Downtown. There are many hotels in the same area if your company has an agreement with a different hotel chain.
