FY 2017 TIGER ROUND

USDOT has released the FY2017 Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). The application deadline for the 2017 TIGER solicitation is Oct. 16, 2017. This tight turnaround time favors re-submittals and applications that have already been started in anticipation of this TIGER grant announcement. The program will provide approximately $500 million to competitive projects “that will have a significant impact on the Nation, a metropolitan area, or a region.” TIGER can be particularly valuable for port projects, as well as INFRA grants. While this TIGER round is very much like the previous rounds, there are a few changes, including an increased focus (including “special consideration”) to projects in rural areas and innovative safety approaches. For additional information, see www.transportation.gov/tiger.
