THE POSITION
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
This is an executive position (no union affiliation) and serves at the pleasure of the Mayor of the
Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Port of Alaska
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; weekends and holidays
as required
LOCATION: 2000 Anchorage Port Road
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Under direction of the Port Director, serve as the Port's and Municipality's direct representative
and supervisor for all facets of the Port of Alaska Modernization Program (PAMP), and act as the
Contracting Officer Technical Representative for the PAMP Program Management
contract. Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SUBSTITUTIONS / PREFERENCES
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and twelve (12) years of experience in engineering,
contract administration, accounting, program administration, utility management, managing
projects or information systems of which two (2) years have been in a supervisory or lead
capacity.
OR
Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering,
Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Legal Studies,
Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Project Management or a related discipline
and ten (10) years of experience in engineering, contract administration, accounting, program
administration, utility management, managing projects or information systems of which two
(2) years have been in a supervisory or lead capacity. OR
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering,
Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Legal Studies,
Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Project Management or a related discipline
and eight (8) years of experience in engineering, contract administration, accounting, program
administration, utility management, managing projects or information systems of which two
(2) years have been in a supervisory or lead capacity. OR
Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering,
Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Legal Studies,
Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Project Management or a related discipline
and six (6) years of experience in engineering, contract administration, accounting, program
administration, utility management, managing projects or information systems of which two
(2) years have been in a supervisory or lead capacity. Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver's License by the time of hire.
Preferences:
• Public or private sector experience with infrastructure projects
• Experience in marine industrial development
