IAMPE CONGRATULATES RECENT MARITIME EXECUTIVE GRADUATES

The International Association of Maritime and Port Executives (IAMPE) is pleased to announce its latest class of Maritime Port Executives (MPE), who completed certifications hosted by The British Virgin Islands Port Authority (BVIPA) in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The course was held February 19-23 and taught by faculty member Capt. Jeffrey Monroe, MM, AMPE, CME. Graduates of the program received graduate-level academic and continuing education credits by the IAMPE’s Academic partners which includes Maine Maritime Academy, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, State University of New York Maritime College, Texas Southern University, The University of Memphis, and the Australian Maritime College. In addition, the IAMPE presented BVIPA with an Education Partner Certificate, receiving the certificate was Akeem Pickering, Managing Director, BVIPA.

 

Earning the Accredited Maritime Port Executive (AMPE) was Akeem Pickering, AMPE – Managing Director, BVIPA; Sean Durrant, MTO, AMPE - Marine Manager, BVIPA and Graduate Maine Maritime Academy D03; Dr. Robert Morgan Jr, AMPE – Professor, Texas Southern University Transportation Studies; Joseph Cranston Jr., AMPE - Marine Manager STT/STJ, Virgin Islands Port Authority.  Additionally, Dr. Robert Morgan, AMPE and Jurine Scatliffe-George, AMPE are working towards the IAMPE Certified Maritime Educator (CME) certification.

Earning the Maritime Port Executive (MPE) certificates was Junior Albert, MPE – Warehouse Supervisor, BVIPA; Jerome Stevens, MPE – Warehouse Supervisor – Virgin Gorda, BVIPA; Nicholas Bailey, MPE – Acting Financial Comptroller, BVIPA; Bryan Scatliffe, MPE – Operations Supervisor, BVIPA; Calma Mactavious, MPE – Senior Business Development Officer, BVIPA; Mervyn Constantine, MPE – Marine Manager,  Virgin Islands Port Authority (St. Croix); St. Clair Amory, MPE – Deputy Commissioner of Police – Operations,  The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force; and Wesley Robinson, MPE – Ports Operations Manager, Corporation of Hamilton, Bermuda.

The IAMPE is a non-profit industry association that provides professional development for port/ terminal maritime managers and executives, as well as certification for operational personnel worldwide. Programs are reviewed and approved for certification by the IAMPE’s Board of Advisors, comprised of 20 industry professionals. The Association offers professional and accredited programs in Coastal and Inland Port Management and Executive Management, as well as certification programs for Marine Terminal Operator and IMDG/Hazardous Awareness. The Association has over 2,600 alumni worldwide and is the only industry association offering professional certification to port managers worldwide.
