IAMPE WELCOMES DR. NOEL HACEGABA TO ADVISORY BOARD

The International Association of Maritime and Port Executives (IAMPE) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Noel Hacegaba, Chief Operating Officer for the Port of Long Beach to the IAMPE Board of Advisors. The IAMPE Board of Advisors reviews and approves IAMPE course programs, recommends improvements to IAMPE programming, supports course development, and provides general advice to the organization as to how to best serve the Port industry.

Dr. Noel Hacegaba is the Chief Operating Officer of the Port of Long Beach, responsible for managing the Port’s day-to-day operations, and has more than 26 years of public and private sector experience spanning a variety of industries.

 

In recent years, Dr. Hacegaba led the Port’s response to the pandemic-induced supply chain crisis, directing the Port’s Business Recovery Taskforce and coordinating with industry, labor and government partners to identify near-term solutions. Under his leadership, the Port of Long Beach opened the nation’s first “pop-up yard” to provide immediate congestion relief and facilitated the first 24-hour terminal operation. Dr. Hacegaba also serves as Executive Director of the Intermodal Container Transfer Facility-Joint Powers Authority, a near-dock rail facility supporting the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.  He is also an industry leader in preparing the next generation of port and supply chain professionals.


In 2025, Dr. Hacegaba was honored with the coveted Stanley T. Olafson award from the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce for his impactful contributions to the advancement of international trade during his 15-year Port career.

Dr. Hacegaba joins 19 other industry professionals on the IAMPE Advisory Board, including port directors, educators, and other industry experts.  

 

The IAMPE is a non-profit industry association that provides professional development and certification for professionals at every level of their careers working in and around the maritime port industry. Programs are reviewed and approved for certification by the IAMPE’s Board of Advisors, comprised of 19 industry professionals. The Association offers professional and accredited programs in Coastal and Inland Port Management and Executive Management, as well as certification programs for Marine Terminal Operator and IMDG/Hazardous Awareness.
